Our Story

Enchanted Mountain Roller Derby (EMRD) was founded in 2010 by a group of local women (who are also skaters) to provide our community with an environment that enhances personal growth and development through sport. This season being our leagues Decade of skate!!

Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of our community. We believe in the value of the individual, the strength of the team, and the power of the female spirit. EMRD is entirely self-supported, drawing from the talents of our members—from skater training and administration to event production, marketing, fundraising, media relations, and every aspect needed for the growth of our league and our sport.

Roller derby has evolved into a true sport with rules and regulations; it involves athleticism and dedication!

EMRD is approaching our 10TH season of competitive play and the publicly known Hellbilly Heartbreakers and the new Allegheny River Rats have drawn in a tremendous fan base, in which our home opener received over 800 people in attendance. Internationally ranked through the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), the Hellbilly Heartbreakers finished 2019 with a ranking of 272 in the world!

There is no doubt that the Hellbillies and River Rats will bring excitement to the Southern Tier once again for their 2022 season. As publicity and enthusiasm about our sport continue to increase internationally and locally, we anticipate an even more tremendous growth in fan base.
